The world said goodbye to an amazing talent the other day, a member of the Self-Satisfied family, Ghost Train Press creator Charles Burgoon. He was a really nice guy, an incredible artist, and we'll miss him. Marc is going to be assembling an anthology of his work, so we'll be sure to keep you posted on that. Volume 22 in the Clear Days Always HOMES series. This is pretty raw stuff...Levi alone in his bedroom with a combination clock radio/tape recorder, an acoustic guitar, his voice, a cheap keyboard. "I've got a new boner for all these HOMES recordings," Levi recently said in an interview with Rzolling Sztone. "I'm realizing that some asshole's white noise recordings aren't anymore important than all these sad, intimate attempts I made at creating pop music, or trying to emulate Niandra Lades or PJ Harvey's 4-Track Demos, or just freaking the fuck out in my mom's trailer. I'm proud of all this, even if it's not pretty." Anyways, this is music of the mentally ill, of the lonely. You were promised fame and fortune, but you are already a fucking failure.
